Exemplo was engaged as Head Contractor to redevelop Levels 2 and 4 of Block E at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, transforming the outdated spaces into modern, flexible workplaces that support Monash Health’s collaborative and hybrid work model.

Level 2 included 572m² of office space refurbished with reconfigured layouts, acoustic upgrades, renewed finishes, and modern kitchen, bathroom, and breakout facilities. On Level 4, 721m² of laboratories was demolished and replaced with new office areas, meeting rooms, open-plan zones, and shared spaces, supported by complete services upgrades.

Delivered within a live hospital environment, the project demanded careful planning to minimise disruption, with strict noise and dust controls, managed deliveries, and maintained shared access. Mechanical, electrical, data, AV, and fire systems were fully upgraded to Monash Health standards.

Due to strong collaboration across all stakeholders, the project was successfully delivered within an accelerated programme.
